How to Think Spring in the Middle of Winter!
Happy New Year to you ALL! It’s good to be back! After an unforeseen hiatus, I am thrilled to be blogging once again! I am very thankful for my readers and supporters and I truly LOVE blogging. I am very HAPPY to be writing once more! So, that being said let’s start the first post of 2025!
The holidays are over and I am longing for warmer weather. BUT, this time of year I am in that odd spot where my heart has abandoned winter and wants to fly toward spring. But, how do you do that when it’s 5 degrees and gray outside? So, read along and I’ll tell you how to think SPRING in the middle of WINTER!
If you are anything like me, on these cold dreary days sometimes I need a little boost! What makes my heart sing like SPRING even in the middle of winter? It’s simple, the three “Bs” of course… books, birds, and beautiful vintage pottery!
I have a collection of botanical print books as well as gorgeous John James Audubon-illustrated bird books. And oh how they perk me right up! These GIANT volumes have the most beautiful images of birds along with flowering plants. They are not only colorful and creative but informative too!
My collection of vintage McCoy pottery always comes to my rescue! I love displaying my double tulip planter with a yellow swallowtail. Made in the 1940s, this pottery with all its details is beyond charming. And, to make it even more cheery, I paired it with blooming daffodil bulbs. Now, my wonderful pastel pottery is the essence of spring… talk about adding some sunshine!
It really is easy to “think SPRING” in the middle of winter. Just remember the three “Bs”… books, birds, and beautiful vintage pottery! And, before you know it you will be warming up your space as well as your heart! So let’s take time to enjoy some nature books and illustrations! Let’s display some vintage vessels… perhaps some McCoy! But most importantly, LET’S GET HOMEY!
