Springfield Extravaganza: Top 10 Reasons I Love This Epic Event!
Part I
Oh Boy, Oh Boy… what an eventful Saturday we had! There was sunshine, there were tents, tables, and vintage treasures as far as the eye could see! Was I dreaming? Was this heaven? It was the Springfield Extravaganza of course! Two times a year you can enjoy the experience of this GIANT fabulous flea market at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ohio. And, here are 10 reasons why I LOVE this EPIC event!
1. Scale
To say that the Springfield Antique Show EXTRAVAGANZA is a large flea market would be an understatement! With over 2,000 dealers in a 25-acre area… WOW… this place is COLOSSAL! And, when you have this much space, just imagine the amount of vintage goodies for sale! It boggles the mind… what a picker’s PARADISE!
2. friendly and organized
The moment you drive into the fairgrounds, Springfield greets you with open arms! From the ticket sellers to the parking attendants, and the hip DJ to the PA announcer, they all make you feel welcome! What a friendly vibe… including their social media posts which are super fun, informative, and fabulous! You feel included before you even arrive!
3. indoor outdoor
No matter what the weather there are many places to roam and shop. They not only have outdoor vendors with tables and tents, but they also have open-air cattle barns and indoor shopping with air conditioning. So, if you need a break from the sun or refuge from the rain there is something for everyone!
4. handmade items
One really nifty thing about this flea market is that although it is mostly vintage, they do have a few vendors selling handmade items. I was enamored by the man who made rustic sculptures out of wood like mushrooms, pumpkins, and rabbits. There were even a few vendors selling dried flower items like crafted wreaths, swags, and bouquets.
5. variety of vintage
Whether you fancy chippy and rusty, mid-century modern, or classic antiques this place has goodies GALORE no matter what your taste! There is plenty of variety to satisfy sellers and collectors… everyone leaves HAPPY!
